Bukhara, UzbekistanAt a distance of 12 km from Bukhara there is a memorial complex of the Islamic saint Baha-ud-Din Naqshband (also spelled Bakhautdin Nakshbandi), the famous Asian philosopher and Sufi. The complex is a Muslim shrine where pilgrims from all the parts of the Islamic world come. Once the village Kasri Orifon was located at the site of the complex. It was famous for its pagan holidays and ancient customs… Baha-ud-Din Naqshband lived in 1318 - 1389. He founded a Sufi order, which was later named Naqshbandi (also spelled Naqshbandiyyah, Naksibendi, Naksbandi, Nakshbandi) after him. His teachings became a polestar for many Asian people of the time and still remains topical today.   Practise day8/ 01.06.2022 The House museum of Faizulla Khodjaev      The House museum of Faizulla Khodjaev is a fine example of the Bukharan architectural style of the late 19th c., and is located in the house of his father, Ubaidulla Khodji, in the old quarter of Gozien. It has a large garden and is divided into two halves: the outer (for men) and inner (for women). The living area has a large reception room for guests, and summer and winter rooms with beautiful murals in the traditional Bukhara style.     A high wooden carved gallery (or "aivan") covers the main entrance. In the restored rooms * is original furniture and examples of clothing, crockery and other household items typical of the late 19th - early 20th cc. Practise day 6 /30.05.2022 Sitorai Mohi-Hosa Palace       Sitorai Mohi-Hosa Palace is a countryside residence of Bukhara emirs. It is located 4 km to the north of Bukhara and belonged to the last governing emir of Bukhara Said Alimkhan (1911-1920). The name of the palace means "stars meet the moon". Built in 1911 for the last emir, Alim Khan, the three-building compound incorporates elements of both Russian and traditional Bukharan architecture. Who was the Sitorai Mohi-Hosa?
